This blog is mainly for me to jot down events of my life, my thoughts and my memories. One day, I hope that I can read back and say to myself, I live a contented life.

Which mommy are u?

When it comes to raising children, there are so many methods, so many readings and so many opinions out there. Are you the attachment parenting type? the homeschooling mommy? or the tiger mom? After I gave birth to the children, the family section of any book store becomes my favourite isle, replacing my chick flick romance genre that i oh-so-love! the RM1k allocation for tax rebate each year? So far I have always exceeded it.. But I love to read all these different opinions.. it provides a better understanding behind each method..

Practicing it however, is a different matter altogether. I do a rojak method that mixes everything, depending on the time and situation. I believe that I have to adapt to  the surrounding, the behaviour and also the acceptance of the child. For instance, I did the sleep training method with Ammar, which was 70% successful, but with Ameer, I never tried doing it cause he just can't take it.. I think Ameer probably got more of the attachment parenting compared to Ammar. Mainly because he likes to bang his head when things don't go his way! Scary!!!

I believe that mothers have their own unique way of parenting.. and this will come from the heart. Maybe people from the outside can't get it.. but I trust mother's instinct.. I do believe they know what's best for their child. And I strongly believe that one should respect what another mother's doing.. (unless of course it is to the point of abuse..) Be it breastfeeding or homeschooling or babywearing or asian parenting.. Each has our own opinion and it really is up to us which one to use..

No, I am not saying that people have been condemning me for my parenting style.. But mainly to say that I believe mommies have special bond with children which allows them to understand what kind of parenting they need to use. And each child is special and unique in its own way.. and we mothers have to have faith in our inner feeling and let our hearts do the choosing but our heads do the thinking.. :-)

Can't wait to go back and kiss kiss kiss my little ones!!
