We attended Ammar's first Parent Day yesterday. As we have elsewhere to go, we were among the first to arrive at the school..
We met Teacher Yuni, Ammar's class teacher. He only has six classmates.. and sits next to the teacher. I love small environment.. He has teacher's full attention..
There is a reason why Ammar sits next to the teacher.. cause he lacks focus.. !! .. aiyoo.. He writes but sometimes he doesnt know what he is writing.. ?? So he needs more guidance at home..
I saw all his work.. his painting.. his counting.. his jawi writing.. And of course I am a very proud mother.. :-) He is a very adventurous kid, likes to try ANYTHING.. and the teacher also says.. Class is quiet without Ammar around.. tee hee hee.. so Ammar, I guess you are building rapport as the class entertainer??
I know that some of his classmates are already learning reading and writing.. But for the time being, I am not fretting too much.. He's not even 4!! As long as he's happy going to school, he practices writing (on his on will) and colouring at home, I am a happy mommy.. I want to inculcate a love of learning.. so that he will have joy learning.. stressing him will only slow him down..
But I also need to incorporate some learning moments at home.. And I am absolutely switching the TV off.. even though the TV exposure is minimum comparatively, I still think it is way too much for toddlers..
Now, off to research on teaching tactile kids!!
Btw the teacher kind of agreed to take Ameer in for baby class next year! yeay.. That is very good news for domestic-helper-less mommy like me!
