Alhamdulillah, my family and I are back from our 8 day trip to perform Umrah at Mecca and Medina. There were 10 of us, 6 adults and 4 children, including my little ones - Ammar and Ameer. We were contemplating to bring the two boys initially but considering that we've been given this chance to bring both of them, and also the fact that we have some extra pair of hands to help during the trip, we gave it a go..
Masya Allah.. it was such a good experience. My last trip to the holy land was when I was 12.. Coming back at 30, it is truly a different experience. Especially with two kids in tow..
We did brought the kids for prayer a few times, more frequent at Masjid Nabawi in Medina as it is air conditioned. They did tawaf twice.. I managed to perform tawaf at night which I so wanted to do.. Although I didn't get a lot of chance to do qiam in the mosque, I am still very thankful for the opportunity to go there. I hope that it also leaves something to the children.. the Arabs even brought along their tiny baby (from the look, perhaps only 3 months old!!)
The weather was hot with 42 - 44 degrees celcius.. but everybody didnt mind walking in the hot sun to perform ibadah in masjidil haram.. night time is slightly colder but about the same temperature as Malaysia at noon. :-)
All in all, we had a great time. I pray that we get to go again soon.. and maybe this time for hajj.. Amin..
